Direct Mail Sales
How many book sales is resonable with self-publishing?
With direct mail ads, online marketing etc..
Monthly, yearly, total etc.
Probably very little compared to traditionally published books, but as with any book, it depends on how good it is, what market you are selling to, and your price point.
Without knowing more about your book, your publishing skills or marketing abilities, I don’t think anyone can give you an estimate that means much of anything.
Many people will throw out the number of no more than 40 and mostly to friends and family. I have no reason to doubt that’s an average when one includes all the vanity/subsidy published books. However, most everyone I know who really did it themselves did much better than that. More in the 200-1000 range for niche books. Not a lot, but their profits for a niche book equaled or surpassed what many selling romance novels make with much greater sales make in royalties.
Of course, compared to traditional publishing the writing or content is only the beginning. You then need to put your publishing hat on and be capable of that part of the job as well.
