How do I get a refund for goods not supplied from an Internet Trader – DIGITAL DIRECT?

Cheque sent for an order –
Order confirmed by supplier and cheque received notification -
After some time when no goods arrived I e-mailed again to be
advised the item was out of stock but would arrive shortly.
Waited and rang several times to be told sorry but item was
still o/s but would arrive shortly. Finally they admitted there
was a problem – they said it was with the supplier – so I asked
for a refund which I put in writing. I have since e-mailed and
rung to be told I will get a refund immediately. It has still not
arrived. The Company – Digital Direct (GB) Ltd appeared
ligitimate – what can I do to get a refund from them?

Write to them, not an e mail, if you have their address, send it recorded delivery so you can prove they received the letter. Tell them what has happened, tell them when you e mailed them and include copies of any e mail you have received from them. Then give them 14 days to refund the money or you will take action in the small claims court (assuming it is under £3,000 AFAIK). If they don’t refund you, then take them to court, you only have to fill in a form, you don’t even have to appear. I think it costs £50, and you get it back. You don’t need a solicitor, and usually the threat will work. You could also go to Trading Standards, who may take the action themselves.
